Illegal arms factory busted in Bihar’s Bhagalpur, 5 detained

An illegal mini-gun factory in Chandpur Village in Bihar’s Bhagalpur was busted by several teams, including the Special Task Forces (STF) of Kolkata Police and Bihar Police on Wednesday.
Five people, including four skilled workers and the property owner from Chandpur named Shivnandan Mondal, were detained. Besides, a cache of firearms was recovered during the raid.
Among the stock of firearms seized were 15 pieces of semifinished improvised 7.65 mm pistol body parts like sliders, grip and barrels, a Kolkata Police statement said.
A lathe machine, a milling machine, a drilling machine, a grinding and polishing machine, a hand grinder and a huge amount of raw materials and tools used for the production of those improvised firearms were also seized, it added.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered in the matter at the Amdanda Police Station in Bhagalpur and further investigation is underway.
