    Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored 1934 Parker Jet Black Celluloid Double Jewel Vacumatic Fountain Pen with original Parker Vacumatic Imprinted Nib. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Feather Clip, Gold Filled Three Ring Cap Banding, and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, & Polished the cap, barrel, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the celluloid of the fountain pen.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The barrel is an opaque type, never had transparency which is uncommon in today's collectors market. The cap has the Feather Gold Plated Clip with triple ring cap bands displaying a wonderful bright gold filled color - the top of the clip ring shows some minor wear and cap banding does not display any wear. The top and bottom jewels are jet black to match the cap, barrel, and section which have been polished to shine great again. The barrel is stamped with a clean imprint, "GEO S. PARKER PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN USA PAT with a 34 date code (for 1934) in the 3rd quarter". The jeweled blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. This Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen is a Standard Size Model that has a wider diameter cap and barrel than the standard juniors from this era. It measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6 1/8" posted.
The Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water in about 10 to 14 presses and it will roughly fill full. This Parker Vac 1st Generation Fountain Pen has the lockdown filling unit, typical on 1st generation Vacs. This filling unit has been greased and now operates as it was originally designed to.
The 14K Parker Vacumatic Made In U.S.A. NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .74mm when measured with digital calipers. These early 1933-34 didn't have the famed Vac arrow nib, which looks rather odd. Nor was it in two-tone platinum/gold, but in gold only. This NIB creates a wonderfully smooth writing experience and is a pleasure to write with. The writing sample provided in the image has a fine stroke that measures .55mm and can flex to a double broad 1.29mm with normal writing pressure when measured with digital calipers. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-black Ink.
If you are looking for an Early Classic Jet Black Celluloid Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen with two unique features (original Parker Vacumatic nib and uncommon opaque barrel,) you won't have to look any further. The restoration turned out great and I would grade this Parker Vacumatic in Very Fine to Excellent Condition. This is collector worthy and is truly gorgeous Parker Vac from the 1st Generation and ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.

    Please Read Carefully Before Bidding:
I strive to find unique and difficult to find pieces that I believe will capture the attention of collectors. I spend a great deal of time traveling, talking with people, sitting at auctions and waiting in line at estate sales to find these pieces. Some of the items are "farm fresh" and some I have had in my possession for years and time to let others enjoy. Please make sure this item is what you want before bidding. If you would like different pictures or have concerns on damage, on whether it is repainted or repaired ask before bidding. If I can find out, I will. These are antiques so expect them not to be "perfect".
