Parker 51 1st Year Fountain Pen 1941 Double Framed Cartouche

You are buying a 1st year (1941) Parker 51. It is a Vacumatic filling model.
There are several features of 1941 51s that are not found on later versions
The jewels are aluminum and not plastic
The imprint is found on the blind cap and not below the clutch ring.
The cap designs are specific to the year.
The nib has no date code.
The filler is aluminum speed line, not plastic.
The cap has a long clutch.
Large blue diamond on pocket clip.
Several other characteristics.
This example has the aluminum jewels, the blind cap imprint, an appropriate 1941 cap design, long cap clutch and correct large diamond pocket clip.
Condition wise this pen is a solid 8/10. The Blue is gone from the diamond on the clip, and the filler is plastic. The imprint is fully legible(Parker 51 made in USA).
The cap is very crisp other than a wear spot on the cap lip (last pic).
The pen will require a new diaphragm to be functional. It is currently not filling.
The nib looks like a Medium. .
