    Description

This is a vintage early 1900s Parker Duofold fountain pen and matching mechanical pencil set; Both in a Orange-Red color.
Both pieces are dated on the gold clip "Pat Sep 5, --16" (1916). Gold clips are both in excellent condition with 'PARKER' deeply emblazoned on both.
The clip, cap, barrel and nib all 'appear' to be in nice antique condition.
    The Fountain Pen:
The barrel is made of orange-red plastic (bakelite? based on age).  Gold trimmed - not marked with Karat strength
A few micro-scratches on the barrel can only be seen with magnification and cannot be felt.
The plunger mechanism still has spring in it but actual viability is unknown; the threading for the plunger cap is in good shape.
The cap has 2 gold rings on the lower edge; the screw-on threads function as intended (not stripped or cracked).
The gold nib is marked "Parker Duofold Pen B"
Note: The pen barrel is engraved with the name "Harry R. Bates"
This old fountain pen measures 5 3/8" long and appears to be in very nice condition but is NOT reconditioned, has NOT been tested, NOT examined by an expert.
    The Mechanical Pencil
The Parker mechanical pencil is in good working condition and still has lead that easily raises and lowers with the twist action
Also Orange-Red plastic with gold trim - no Karat strength noted
Micro-scratches on barrel cannot be felt, no dings or dents
The barrel is not marked with a personal engraving
The barrel is marked "Parker Duofold Jr"
The clip is in good condition, also patent dated Sep 5 --16
The pencil is about 5 1/8" long
Note: All pens I offer are from the estate of a collector; I'm listing pens that "appear" to be in good vintage condition to my untrained eye:  I do not have any experience to give assurances about the pens. None have been tested or reconditioned: All pens are sold "as-is" without confirmation of function, viability or size of nib.
